Advisor

Soulaimane Berkane (PhD, P.Eng, SMIEEE)

Received his Engineering and M.Sc. degrees in Automatic Control from Ecole Nationale Polytechnique (Algeria) in 2013. He received his PhD degree in Electrical Engineering (Robotics & Control) from the University of Western Ontario (Canada) in 2018. In 2017, he received the award of Excellence in Graduate Research at the University of Western Ontario. He held postdoctoral positions at the University of Western Ontario (Canada) and at KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden) between 2018 and 2019. He is currently an associate professor at the Université du Québec en Outaouais and an adjunct professor at Lakehead University.

He is a PhD student at the Université du Québec en Outaouais. He is working towards the modelling and control of insect-like micro drones using methods from geometric control on Lie groups and machine learning. He is expected to defend his PhD in Fall 2024.

He is a PhD student at the Université du Québec en Outaouais. He is working towards the design of real-time sensor-based obstacle avoidance algorithms for autonomous vehicles. He is expected to defend his PhD in Fall 2026.

He is a master student at the Université du Québec en Outaouais. He is working towards the development of sensor-based guidance and control algorithms for unmanned ground vehicles navigating in unknown environments.

He is working towards the development of anti-jamming and anti-spoofing techniques for GNSS/INS navigation.

Ny Aina Ranaivojaona

She is a master student at the Université du Québec en Outaouais. She is working on the development of reactive obstacle avoidance techniques for UAVs using onboard vision, leveraging Quanser’s QDrone platform.
